Tamise from the Couture Collection, 1959

Single women’s black silk/satin/leather court shoe; Clarks Couture Collection ‘Tamise’, 1959
This shoe, called Tamise, is from 1959, and belongs to the Couture Collection range. The range itself, introduced in the late 1950s, was prestigious for Clarks, and competing with Italian manufacturers such as Cavalli. It was used to experiment certain styles, with the most popular ones being introduced to the Skyline range.
After making a loss for Clarks, and being unable to reach its target audience, it was eventually stopped.
